Mumbai Blasts…Is it just an attack or a War?

clock November 27, 2008 10:38 by author indey

I am, just like any other Indian, following closely the tragic and horrendous events unfolding in Mumbai. Though I am thousands of miles away from India, I am still feeling the pain that reverberating through the events in the Indian financial capital.

Track the Mumbai blasts here

Also you can see the first hand pics on Flickr here ,some more here and here

The Twitter is buzzing with the latest updates from ground zero.

I hope everyone of the hostages are rescued safely from the maniacs who have held them as the hostages. Pray for the innocent people who have lost their lives and for the brave soldiers who laid their lives fighting the criminals.

You can view the live coverage on CNN iBN here

You can view the live coverage on Times Now here

A first experience by a person who was at Oberoi when all this happened.

This is a rare video from sky news which shows the Indian Police capturing the only alive terrorist

Good video about Earth

clock October 13, 2008 22:48 by author indey

Saw this video on youtube. Simply loved it. The thing I most liked about this video is that it tells us the present position of Earth in a very subtle and understandable manner.

He should also have included how many people from the community of 100 will strive to give something back to the society. That will be very less I guess. Everyone I know wants do social service to an extent but most of them are content in just saying that rather than showing that in action.

NO OBLIGATIONS”Image126

This is my mantra from past 3 5 weeks.

Life is a beautiful time, which I think, one should spend happily and to the fullest. After some years, when we turn back and see ourselves and our lives, we should not regret, of what we have done and what we are doing then. Also, there should not be any feeling that we have missed something in life which we still think that we should have done.

Enjoy your life, LIVE it, don’t just spend it just as you spend your detention classes in school.

It just happened one fine day to me that I got up from bed feeling great about myself and too happy and content. I wondered what made me so happy. When I ruminated what I dreamt the last night, it was about my friends and some little things which me and my friends did together in our college days. This made me wonder about the whole thing of mindless rush that we go through each day in this corporate jungle and how we allow those things to sap out our happiness.

Now, all my friends are in different parts of the world, couple of them in the US of A, I am in Sweden, couple of them in India(though in different cities).

So, what I was wondering what makes me happy, you happy, all the people happy…well if its earning money, then I am earning enough to tell whether money makes you happy. If its success in life, then I know people who are successful but not happy.

One of the many things that my mom says, is that all the hard work we do is to have out stomach full. You eat at the Taj’s or at the chat bandaar around the street corner what ultimately you need to have stomach full.

What I intend to tell is that, what ultimately matters is whether you are HAPPY or not. What I tried with myself is for 2-3 weeks, I did not allow anything which may cause any trouble, to come near me. NO OBLIGATIONS, I have to answer no one. All I want to be is happy, place all your constraints, stresses, deadlines etc which make you stress in some place and lock it up for some days. To tell you precisely, stop preparing for your exams, stop going to your gym, stop getting up early, eat all the junk food, booze like there’s no element called water on earth…in other words pamper your senses. Pamper to an extent of satiating them. BUT, word of caution, before you start this we have to decide when we will be back on track after this small escapade, because this is so addictive that you tend to forget to come back.

Well, I got many positive results from that. First, it rejuvenates us.Next, it gives us time to ponder on our deeds and our future actions and most importantly satisfy our body. :)

Moral of the post: Enjoy once in a while. Do not stretch anything beyond its limit. Its good some times to be a lazy moron ;)

The blame game starts!

clock March 24, 2007 22:33 by author indey
India 112/4 when switched on my TV set yesterday midnight( infact today early morning) at 1:40 AM. It was a sigh which came out of me to my surprise rather than frustration or anger. Yuvraj was runout the next ball and by the time I came out of that shock Dhoni has completed his part. Next thing I did was to switch of my idiot box and off I went to my dream land thinking how our overreactive media would react to this defeat of Indian team.

First thing I did today morning was browsing all the news channels...the only thing I could think of was who should be blamed for this...undoubtedly the team itself for the humiliating loss but who should be blamed for all the cacaphony happening in the country? The Indian Team? The BCCI?
I'm sorry but the sole responsibility lies with US...we the people of entire nation who just created Gods out of the players and made Cricket a religion!!

Who asked us to transform the love towards the game into such a stage that if the team loses, people lose their life.

A person in my neighbourhood just collapsed after seeing the forgettable match and DIED!! Doctors declared that he died because of a heart attack...now who is responsible for all this...should the cops arrest the Indian team for being responsible, though indirectly, for his death...or is the person responsible for his own demise...

All the Shav yatras, burning the pictures, mobbing their houses, a solution for what they did...
no my dear people absolutely not. All this is forgotten in couple of days im afraid even before the world cup culminates on april 28.

There should be a solution for this...and it is...I suppose all of us believe that they are indeed very good players...but unfortunately they tend to forget it in the over attention they get from us. Dont see them as Gods from now on. let them realise that if they dont deliver they are not excused for that. dont buy the stuff they endorse...ive more preference to other sports than cricket...this decreases the trp ratings of the cricket based programs and the channels will be forced to stop telecasting the matches and other cricket related stuff...let them realise that we are the one who made them and we can break them...

This is what i feel...u may differ from me and i may be wrong...but my dear friends what you are doing now is definitely not correct.

About Orphans

clock January 24, 2007 03:55 by author indey
Today Divya said sth abt orphans to me - that we should adopt some orphan and help them...
wht she said is absolutely right...
Even i had the same thought as she has has....but divya said that we should adopt them and take care of them and if not possible keep them with our parents...but divya i differ from u here...

I had a thought the day i recieved my first pay...that i should help some one...wht i had in my mind is - Adopt some one but keep them in a hostel or the orphanage but take good care of them financially and also emotionally...

See it solves two purposes...first that we adopted him/her and there is also no burden on our parents or us to look after them...

Frankly speaking im still searching for such an orphanage where if we pay money they spend it truly on the person we adopted...
wht say...think about it..

I feel evry1 person we is earning and also capable of saving money should atleast adopt one boy/girl and look after them...im not saying tht u have to look aftr them as ur own child but atleast give them a decent enough life...
